Lauren Buscemi

Lauren Buscemi is a visual arts writer who has covered the San Diego contemporary art scene for art ltd. and visual art source. As an art historian, she taught art and visual culture at the University of San Diego. An advocate of the San Diego arts community, she appreciates the opportunity to meet with both emerging and established artists to discuss their practice and explore their vision through artist profiles, articles, and catalogue essays.
Lauren Buscemi has held positions at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, Carlsbad Cannon Art Gallery, and City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture’s Public Art Program. Buscemi has served as a panelist for the Port of San Diego, San Diego International Airport Art Program, and the San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture; as well as a writer and art prize nominator for the San Diego Visual Arts Network. She received her BA in Art History from the University of San Diego and MA in Art History with an emphasis in contemporary art and gender studies from San Diego State University.
