Eva Struble was born in Elsmere, Kentucky. She received her MFA in painting from Yale University in 2006 and her BA in Visual Arts in 2003 from Brown University. Eva’s paintings and installations deal with landscape through the lens of social and environmental histories in cities where she has lived. Her colorful work undermines traditional viewpoints and modes of depth using oil, acrylic, screen-printing, and textile media in various combinations. She is an Associate Professor at San Diego State University.

Recent projects have been exhibited at the Wassaic Project in Wassaic, NY; the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego; and public projects at the San Diego Airport; the New Children’s Museum; and the San Diego County Operations Center. Her work has been shown previously at the Cleveland MOCA; Lombard Freid projects in New York; and Angles Gallery in Santa Monica, among others. Selected residencies include the Vermont Studio Center, the Headlands Center for the Arts, and the Andratx Cultural Center in Mallorca. Her work has received praise in Art In America, The Village Voice, the San Diego Union Tribune, and other publications.
